1. What we collect
Account data: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and country, provided when you register.
Study data: your course progress, question-level answers, mock-exam and live-test scores, and study-planner activity — this is what lets the platform show weak-area diagnostics and adjust your plan.
Payment data: handled by our payment processor directly. Scholexo does not store your full card number; we retain only the transaction record (amount, date, plan) needed for billing history and refunds.
Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected automatically through cookies and similar technology — see the Cookie Policy for the full breakdown by category.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service: log you in, track your progress, run the AI tutor and study planner, and score your practice attempts.
- To run live tests: match you into that day's session, compute the leaderboard, and show your result alongside the correct answer for each question.
- To communicate with you: transactional emails (receipts, password resets, live test reminders) always; product updates and marketing emails only if you haven't opted out.
- To improve the product: aggregated, de-identified usage patterns help us see which lessons or question types are confusing candidates broadly — this analysis doesn't single out an individual's data.
4. How long we keep it
Account and study data is kept for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period afterward to handle refund windows and legal record-keeping. You can request deletion at any time — see 'Your rights' below.
5. Security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard salted hashing, never in plain text. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users without undue delay.
6. Your rights
Wherever you're located, you can ask us to: send you a copy of your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your account and associated data, or stop sending marketing email. If you're in the EU/UK or a US state with its own privacy law (like California), you may have additional statutory rights under that law, which we honour on top of the rights above.
7. Children's privacy
Scholexo is built for candidates studying toward professional certification and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16; if you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll close it.
8. International data transfers
Scholexo is operated from the United States, and data may be processed there and by service providers in other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EU/UK/EEA, we rely on the service providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, and email account holders in advance of any change that materially reduces your rights over your data.
